After the 2015 Presidential residential elections, many were not happy
that President Mohammadu Buhari emerged victorious. To these people it
was like they were still dreaming. After all the mudslinging, smear
and hate campaign how did Buhari still win the elections? Well
Nigerians voted for Change and thats it. When the result were
anounced, Goodluck Jonathan called Buhari and congratulated him, some
Nigerians called him a hero. Hero for what? For accepting that he lost
an election? Well, we accept he is a hero for losing an election he
nearly jeopardized.
That being the case, some people have refused to move on after the
elections especially in a particular section of the country. But we
must remind these people that as an ''Abobaku'' (in some Youruba
culture, a man who is supposed to live and die with the king) it
amounts to betrayal not to have gone into oblivion with your master
and party. They have resulted to unecessary and meaningless criticism
of the present Government to the point that a presidential media aid
have christined them ''Wailing Wailers''. You will hear such
meaningless statements as he said he wants to fight corruption yet he
is surrounded by Tinubu Atiku, Amaechi etc. So because in your
factless claim that some of the president's party associates are
corrupt he should not fight corruption? These same people termed as
corrupt have been with us since the last sixteen years yet your
masters did nothing about them. If you have a chance to kill your
enemies and you fail to do so, if your enemies have the same chance
and decides to kill you should you blame them? The President declared
an asset and in a supposed sane nation with sane Abobakus they could
not challenge his declaration in court rather they say its a lie . But
they wanted us to continue with a man who said he doesnt give a damn
about asset declarartion. Please the elections are over, unless you
want to conduct another unofficial one between the former President
and the Present which changes nothing till 2019.
These people come up with different criticisms without profering any
reasonable solution to pressing National issues just like their party
PDP who only attack institutions recently because to them in their
sixteen years of destruction, these institutions never functioned and
should continue so. One man who has still not come to terms with the
reality on ground is Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose the "Market man
governor" whose next likely project to be commissioned might be the
distribution of chicken or fish to Ekiti people. He goes about
releasing meaningless stamens and recently his doom prediction for
Nigeria in 2016. But we must also remind him that he predicted worst
before the election especially the one on the current President being
in a London hospital many of which were false. We hope Fayose is not
indirectly predicting doom for himself?
Wailing wailers, the PDP, haters of President Buhari, haters of
Nigeria. Let me further add to your missery. The final whistle had
already been blown and like in the game of football, this tournament
have come to an end. Months after the President took over, what your
party and party affiliates made us believe were impossible had started
been possible. Atleast we can cut cost of governance and not travell
with a whole comunity for international engagement neither do we
budget for unecessary Firstladyship. Even in the face of dwindling Oil
prices, this Government came up with 6 trillion Naira budgets the
first of its kind in the country.
More have been done but thats not the intent of this article. Let me
remind you all that the glory days of this administration is still
ahead and no matter what, this present administration will be better
than the previous. So stop the irrelevant criticisms it will do you no
good. But if it heals your sorrow of the loss at the polls you can
continue but just know that you are already a nuisance to the society
with it.
